OMG seven minutes into it and i've already got it solved? jeeezus this is so obvious a setup and frame job i can't believe the cops don't see this one coming before it even peeks over the horizon!

the overly helpful fellow employee who 'coincidentally' shows up in Cafe Poirot ONE HOUR AWAY FROM HIS JOB! did it. the dude is scouting the cops on stakeout to LEARN MORE ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION! Takagi then whips out his notebook and just about SHOUTS it from the countertop how the investigation is going. (facepalm) oh god Megure, go scold Takagi AGAIN for being a "loose lips, sinks ships!". yeah Takagi... the cafe's full of cops... and Ran, and Conan, and Kogoro, AND THE DAMN SUSPECT'S SISTER! and the suspect's co-worker. Takagi, go out on the sidewalk, strip butt ass nekkid, dance around a streetlight as if you were a pole dancer at a gay gentleman's club, and SCREAM the details of the case at the top of your lungs. we really REALLY need more confidential details of this murder out in public.

fudge brownies what epic level of police IDIOCY! are his fingerprints on the spent rifle brass? did the suspect load the rifle? where did the ammo come from? how was the rifle secured in the victim's home? why was a RIFLE used in a CLOSE PROXIMITY MURDER!? when the suspect's SHOTGUN! would be a better weapon!? are the suspect's fingerprints on the bolt-action lever? the forestock and the buttstock of the rifle? the trigger guard? the trigger itself? is his DNA skin oils and cheek print on the stock of the rifle? how'd he fire the rifle, looking through the scope? is there GSR on his shirt!? is the suspect's DNA ON HIS SHIRT?! what other trace evidence is on the shirt? where are his bloodstained SHOES!? how'd the blood splatter get on the shirt? why JUST THE SHIRT!? not his blazer? was he wearing a blazer that day? where are his PANTS!!! THAT WENT WITH THAT SHIRT AND WHY AREN'T THEY IN THE GARBAGE COVERED IN BLOOD SPLATTER?

jeeeezus! (facepalm) in less than 15 minutes, i've shot so many holes in this shoddy investigation that ANY idiot who even approaches this suspect and tries to interrogate him will end up flying a desk for a year... on the Northern Coast of Hokkaido... in a fishing village that hasn't seen a crime since WW2!

if Ran's mom THE TRIAL LAWYER was in that cafe? Sato-chan would have to come to the cafe, console a weeping blubbering mess of destroyed policemanship Takagi, take him home, and boink him thoroughly for three days straight to get him to recover.

ok i'm back from the movies. i just finished Conan movie 13 and realized the Conan vs Lupin III special episode came out the same year... annnd since my Lupin knowledge is slim i back burner that one till later. annnd i saw movie 14 came out in 2010... and this season of Conan is still in 2009... so i thought it would be safer to catch up to 2010 and pass movie 14 before giving it a shot. JIC spoilers etc. :> to the TV series.

nod nod, i didn't watch it back five months ago because i was worried i needed more Lupin background than i had at that time. i had watched maybe 10 or so episodes of the English dub of one of the oldest Lupin anime many MANY years ago.

it seriously has been so long since i watched those eps of Lupin i can't even remember what it was. Red Jacket, Green Jacket. OVAs, TV series... i just don't remember :> i kept the gist of which character was which, some of their traits, what they looked like, and a few other tidbits squirreled away in my braincase... but not much else other than that. :D i can't even remember what decade or century it was that i saw it! :D
